Park Visits MERS Task Force

President Park Geun-hye has visited a pan-governmental task force team, which is fighting the spread of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.

The presidential office said that during the visit at the government complex in Seoul on Monday, Park examined the government’s measures against the disease and asked the team to make an all-out effort to curb the outbreak.

During the visit, the president highlighted the nation's efforts against the epidemic, saying that the entire nation is fighting to bring a complete end to the disease.

The president was also briefed on how the central and provincial governments are cooperating to fight the disease, followed by hearing opinions of quarantine officials and civilian experts.

The government set up the MERS response team headed by Public Safety and Security Minister Park In-yong after an emergency meeting presided over by the president last Wednesday.
