CNN: U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff says No Additional Signs of MERS Infections

United States Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh said there is no sign that additional people have been infected with MERS after a Korean Air Force member at a U.S. air base in South Korea was tested positive for the virus.

In an interview with CNN Friday, Welsh said the South Korean chief master sergeant has been quarantined at a base facility and is receiving appropriate treatment.

On response measures by U.S. Forces Korea (USFK), he said that medical inspections are being conducted and that bigger problems have yet to occur.

USFK said Thursday that it has taken measures such as strengthening the monitoring of access to its bases to prevent the infection of U.S. troops.
