MERS Cases in S. Korea Rises to 9

Doctors have confirmed two additional cases of MERS, or Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, in South Korea, raising the total number of confirmed cases to nine.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said Friday that a medical worker and a patient at hospitals that the first patient visited were confirmed to have been infected.

Health authorities said 120 people who had been in contact with MERS patients are being examined and placed in quarantine.
