Early Heat Wave Hits Nation

South Korea witnessed unusually high temperatures on Tuesday, with heat wave warnings issued in parts of the nation.

Temperatures rose to 35-point-five degrees Celsius in Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province, 34-point-five degrees in Daegu, 33-point-one degrees in Gwangju and 30-point-three degrees in Seoul.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that due to clear skies and warm wind from the west, the temperatures were ten degrees higher than the seasonal average.

The weather agency forecast the high temperatures will continue into Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the mercury is predicted to rise to around 33 degree Celsius in southern parts of the nation.
