S. Korea's Technology Level Estimated at 78.4% of US

A study finds that South Korea’s technology level is estimated at 78-point-four percent of the United States.
 
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning released the results of their evaluation of 120 national strategic technologies of South Korea, the United States, Europe, Japan and China in ten sectors.
 
According to the results, South Korea's technology gap with the United States was four-point-four years.
 
South Korea came in fourth in nine sectors, while ranking lowest in aerospace.
 
The nation was relatively strong in machinery, manufacturing, electronics, information and communications, while it was weak in the areas of disaster control, safety and aerospace.
 
The evaluation was based on the analysis of theses and patents and a Delphi survey of experts.
