S. Korea's Arirang-3A Satellite to be Launched on March 26

South Korea’s Arirang-3A satellite will be launched from Russia on March 26 at 3:08 in the morning.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute said Wednesday that the date and time have been finalized for the Arirang-3A that was transported to Russia's Yasny Launch Base last November.

The institute said the remaining procedures for the launch include loading the satellite atop a Russian Dnepr rocket and loading the rocket with fuel.

The Arirang-3A is the first satellite developed with domestic technologies. Equipped with infrared sensor cameras, the multi-purpose satellite can send high-resolution images of the Earth, even at night, from space. The satellite will observe the Earth for four years at an altitude of 528 kilometers.
