South Korea's Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning along with the British Embassy held an annual workshop to enhance bilateral cooperation in cyber security.
At the workshop held on Monday in southern Seoul, the two nations discussed cooperation in cyber security policies and security breaches, as well as ways to protect data in the Internet of Things (IoT) and critical national infrastructure.
The two sides also shared cyber security cooperation models among academics, industry and research institutions, and exemplary cases of information security certification.
The two nations held their first cyber security workshop in October 2013 and have since built a close partnership, sharing related policies and information.
The Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and the British Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in May last year to jointly respond to cyber threats.
An official at the ICT ministry said that the government will maintain close cooperation with Britain to deal with threats to the Internet of Things and key national infrastructure.
