The government will invest nearly four trillion won in the science and IT sectors this year. 
   
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning finalized a plan to invest two-point-nine trillion won in the science and technology sector and one-trillion-40 billion won in the IT sector. The decision is in line with the ministry’s goal to serve the public and help the economic recovery through promoting science and technology.
  
Of the budget, the largest portion of two-point-two trillion won will go to research and development. Nearly 900 billion won will be spent for basic research and personnel training, while 640 billion won will be used for building scientific infrastructure.
  
The ministry will hold presentations on its comprehensive plan to promote research and development this month.
