Gov't Proposes 5 Long-Term ICT Strategies

The government finalized five long-term strategies it will seek in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.
 
During the third ICT strategy committee meeting held Friday, the government finalized the five strategies including fostering the smart media industry and quantum ICT, improving the legal system for the data and ICT sectors, and realizing the vision of an ultra-connected society.
 
Under the strategies, the government plans to invest 141-point-eight billion won through 2020 beginning next year to help foster smart advertising and immersive media, as well as in developing Hallyu cultural content.
 
It also plans to support the quantum ICT sector and the usage of big data, and to revitalize the private sector-oriented data exchange.
 
It also plans to revise a total of 16 ICT related laws and systems.
