First Snow of Year on Mount Halla, 2 Weeks Earlier than Last Year

The nation’s southern resort island of Jeju saw the first snow of the year on Mount Halla.
 
The Korea Meteorological Administration said Monday that the temperature on Mount Halla fell below zero overnight with snow covering around one millimeter on Witse Oreum, a volcanic cone on the mountain located at one-thousand meters above sea level, as of 6 a.m. 
 
The first snow on the mountain came two weeks earlier than last year.
