S. Korea Develops World's First Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia Vaccine

South Korean researchers have developed the world's first DNA vaccine that is effective in treating cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).

A joint research team from Postech and Cheil General Hospital & Women's Healthcare Center said that seven of the nine patients with CIN who were injected with the latest DNA vaccine have seen the virus disappear.

The research team said those suffering from CIN could be cured only by surgeries until now, but they will be able to be treated with simple injections going forward.

The research was published in the most recent issue of Nature Communications.
