Autumn Foliage Arrives in Mount Chiak in Gangwon Province

Autumn foliage has arrived in Mount Chiak in Gangwon Province.
The Chuncheon Weather Station, part of the Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration, said this year’s first autumn foliage was found at the mountain Thursday.
A Chuncheon Weather Station official said the foliage will reach its peak in mid or late October.
The autumn foliage arrived in Mount Seorak and Mount Odae in the Gangwon region on September 26 and October 1.
The foliage season usually begins when the lowest daily temperature falls below five degrees Celsius. It is considered to have arrived when one fifth of the trees on a mountain change colors.
