Google has announced plans to set up a Google Campus in Seoul.
Google held a news conference Wednesday and announced the plan on Google Campus Seoul as a space to provide infrastructure to Korean venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.
Campus Seoul will open next year near the Samseong subway station in southern Seoul.
On Google's official Asia-Pacific blog, the company said that as its first such space in Asia, Campus Seoul will be joining a global network including Campus London, Campus Tel Aviv, and the recently announced Campus Warsaw and Campus Sao Paulo.
Launched in 2012, Campus London assisted over 70-thousand entrepreneurs in its first year. Some 270 companies were also able to attract investment of over 57 billion won.
Google said that Korean innovators and entrepreneurs are some of the best in Asia and Korean startups are making headlines around the world, especially in the mobile space.
It said Campus Seoul will join the Google network of startup communities in some 120 countries which will now offer Korean entrepreneurs connections to global startup hubs.
