Seoul and Gangneung in Gangwon Province saw tropical nights on Tuesday as typhoon Neoguri is moving north toward Japan.
 
The Korea Meteorological Administration said overnight lows in Seoul stood at 25-point-six degrees Celsius and 25-point-one degrees in Gangneung.
 
Tropical nights are characterized by overnight lows that do not fall below 25 degrees.
 
Tuesday night marked the first tropical night for Seoul, coming six days earlier than last year.
 
The weather agency said humid air from tropical regions is moving northward along with typhoon Neoguri. The agency said the capital will see a tropical night again on Wednesday.
