The first heat wave alert of the year was issued at 11 a.m. on Saturday for southeastern parts of the country.

The Korea Meteorological Administration issued the alert for 13 cities and counties in North Gyeongsang Province, including Gumi, Yeongcheon and Gyeongju. In South Gyeongsang Province, the alert was issued for six cities and counties including Milyang, Geochang and Hapcheon.
