The sale of insecticides has sharply increased as warmer than average temperatures for this time of the year draw out mosquitoes and other insects earlier than usual.

Retail chain Homeplus said sales of extermination related products surged 81 percent this month as of Monday compared to the same time last year.

Homeplus attributes the increase to the early appearance of flies and bugs this year and more people enjoying outdoor activities due to the warm weather.
