Fourth Meteorite Found in Jinju

Another meteorite has been discovered in Jinju, a city near the south coast of the country. A local professor says it is the fourth recently found in the area and one of the largest meteorites ever discovered in South Korea.

Professor Jwa Yong-joo at Gyeongsang National University Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences examined the meteorite, which was found on March 17th by a hiker at a small stream in Jinju. Jwa says it is the same kind of meteorite as the three found in the city earlier this month.

The latest one weighs 20-point-nine kilograms and is the largest yet found in Jinju. It was discovered one and a half kilometers away from the spot where the first meteorite was found on March tenth.
