Cherry Blossoms to Bloom in Jeju from Late March

Cherry blossoms will likely begin blooming on March 27th on Jeju Island, two to three days later than last year.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Thursday that the spring flowers will begin blooming on the southern part of the mainland in mid-April and in the central region from April 10th.

It will take a week for the cherry blossoms to reach full bloom. The flowers will be at their peak around April 8th in the port city of Jinhae on the southern coast and April 15th in Yeouido, Seoul, both areas famous for spring cherry blossoms.

The weather agency said the cherry blossoms are expected to come a little later this year than previous years as the weather was relatively cold in the first ten days of March.
