Stylish Jackets for Fall 2016
Fall is here and that means it’s time for a wardrobe update. Today I’m going to introduce the hottest jacket trends topping the trend charts for Fall 2016.

●Go oversized
First off, oversized anything has been a hot trend for several seasons now and it looks like the trend is here to stay this fall. Among other “it” items worth mentioning, oversized blazers are all the rage at the moment. Boxy and loose-fitting blazers were all over the Fall/Winter 2016 runways and that means it’s time to officially ditch those tight-fitting blazers and opt for something loose this season. When choosing oversized blazers, stylists recommend opting for those two or three sizes bigger than your normal size—so think extremely loose-fitting styles featuring dropped shoulder lines and boxy silhouettes. For the office, switch up your everyday fitted jacket for an oversized blazer and instantly update your office look. As for the style of the jacket, you can go for neutrals such as grey, beige or black (which never go out of style) or opt for those in vivid colors or wild patterns—perhaps more appropriate for a casual Friday at work. Team up the oversized jacket with something as plain as a high-waisted black trouser and a white buttondown and a pair of pumps and you have a stylish outfit. As for the style of the pants, be careful not to choose anything too wide-legged so you can create a look that isn’t overdone.

●Full suit
Next, full suits are back for Fall 2016. According to fashion magazines, the androgynous look is one of the hottest trends to hit the catwalks. Characterized by tailored masculine clothes, blazers this season are also getting the androgynous treatment, becoming all the more chic and streamlined. Korean celebs are loving this look too—Choi Ji-woo and Kim Hee-ae are just a few actresses who have been spotted wearing the trend. For the office, opt for a double breasted blazer and wear it teamed up with a matching pair of slacks. Remember, the matching “set-look” is super hot this fall. Opt for separates in the same color and same fabric and create a slimmer, leaner look.

●Checkered blazers
Last but not least, vintage checkered blazers are “in” this season. If the checkered suit is too much for you, a checkered blazer is a good way to add some print to your fall wardrobe. Embraced by many designers, models and street fashionistas alike, the checkered blazer is a definite “must-have” and a magical piece that can be styled in many ways. For the office, choose a simple checkered blazer in grey and white and pair it with a pair of plain black slacks. The checkered blazers are quite versatile and are easier to style than we think. Pair the blazer with a variety of bottoms—everything from high-waisted pants, tight-fitting pencil skirts to pleated skirts and wide-legged, destroyed jeans. Complete the look with a pair of boots and a tote and you have a stylish fall outfit.

Add a fall blazer to your wardrobe now and stay chic!
