Actor Lee Byung-heon has been named the tourism ambassador for the state of California in the US.
There was an officialy gathering on September 15th at the JW Marriott Hotel where Lee was officially deemed the ambassador. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was also in attendance.
Following his debut in 1991, Lee has starred in many major films and dramas helping to spread the Hallyu wave all across Asia. He has also made a successful entry into the Hollywood market, through his role in the film "G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra". With his newly appointed title, Lee will try to spread the beauty and charm of California to Korean travelers.
Governor Schwarzenegger visited Korea to attend the Globalizing Trade and Investment conference. He said, "I'm very happy about one of Korea's most representative stars, Lee Byung-hun, being appointed as California's tourism ambassador. As one of the top stars, Lee Byung-hun's lifestyle and travel experiences will help his role of letting the people of Korea know that California is one of the best places to visit.
