Gov't: N. Korea Must Show Substantial Action on Denuclearization

The government has stressed the need for North Korea to show sincerity and substantial action with regard to Korean Peninsula denuclearization.

Unification Ministry Spokesman Kim Hyung-seok told reporters on Monday that Washington has conveyed to Pyongyang that it wants the communist state to act on promises regarding denuclearization.

He made the remark after being asked to comment on the government’s stance regarding the North’s proposal to hold high-level bilateral talks with the U.S. Kim said he was issuing the government’s stance by explaining the U.S.’s position on the North’s request.
