N. Korea Silent About Evacuation Advice to Foreign Embassies

North Korea has yet to make an official announcement regarding its decision to inform foreign embassies and UN offices to consider evacuating.

The North’s foreign ministry had informed foreign diplomatic missions and United Nations offices located in Pyongyang for humanitarian purposes that it would not be able to guarantee the safety of their staff after April tenth. North Korean authorities also wanted to be notified if any assistance is needed in the case of evacuation.

However, neither the North Korean authorities nor the nation's media outlets have not made the information available to the public.

Meanwhile, the South Korean government confirmed late Friday foreign media's reports that the North advised foreign embassies in Pyongyang, including the Russian Embassy, to evacuate.
