New Accord to Foster Broadcast Culture Promoting Gender Equality

The Korea Communications Standards Commission and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family have signed an agreement aimed at fostering a broadcasting environment that promotes gender equality.

Commission Chairman Park Hyo-chong and Minister Kang Eun-hee attended the signing on Friday.

The commission said the agreement was signed to protect the rights and interests of viewers in accordance with the Framework Act on Gender Equality that was revised and effectuated last year.

The accord includes cooperative measures for monitoring discriminating and derogatory broadcast contents as well as mutual participation in projects designed to spread the culture of gender equality.
