Gov't to Strengthen Management of Private School's Buses

The government has decided to strengthen management of vehicles that carry children to and from private educational institutes.

The decision was reached on Friday during a policy coordination meeting chaired by Prime Minister Chung Hong-won.

At the meeting, the government agreed that operators of private educational institutes or gyms offering bus service register their vehicles.

The government also made it mandatory for those vehicles to install safety devices, including parking sensors.

It will also become obligatory for supervisors on board to observe safety regulations and in the event they violate such regulations, they will have their licenses suspended or revoked.

The government plans to get all such vehicles registered and provide parents information online or by smartphone.
