‘Pres. Mulls Special Pardon After Election’ 2007-12-19 13:16:28
 
President Roh Moo-hyun will not grant pardons at Christmas but will consider them around New Year’s Day.

A presidential aide said Mr. Roh decided to delay special pardons close to the presidential election, citing a desire to avoid questions about election fairness.

The official added that the list of those receiving clemency will be convicted politicians and business leaders, which would help promote national solidarity and revitalize the economy.
